Start with a few useful words. Hear them, say them, recognise them, then try remembering them without help.
Your first five words
These words come from our home practice theme. The middle column is a reading aid, not English: use the lesson audio to hear the sounds.

A beginner’s practice routine
- Meet the word. Read its Nepali spelling, pronunciation guide and English meaning. Listen before repeating.
- Cover the meaning. Look at the Nepali word and try to remember its meaning.
- Try the other direction. Look at the English meaning and say or type the Nepali word.
- Return to difficult words. Rate a flashcard honestly after revealing the answer. The app shows when it is due again.
Put a word into a sentence
यो मेरो घर हो।
yo mero ghar ho. — This is my house.
घर means “house” or “home”. In this example, यो means “this”, मेरो means “my”, and हो identifies what something is. Read it aloud, then try remembering the whole sentence.
Choose how to practise
Learn mode introduces words with their meanings. Flashcards let you recall an answer before revealing it. Quick quiz gives choices, while Type it asks you to produce the Nepali spelling. You can repeat a theme and switch methods.
